About

Our Mission

Pray for Ukraine seeks to serve religious communities in Ukraine through our active prayer network. In this time of war, we hope that this collective work of prayer will grow connection, and provide comfort and God’s protection to those oppressed congregations in occupied Ukraine and beyond.

Who We Are

Pray for Ukraine is a group of individuals of diverse faiths, denominations, and traditions from all over the United States working to connect with religious communities in Ukraine. We are volunteers who believe that through the power of prayer we can bring people together, and give strength and protection to those in need.

Our Team

Margret Ellwanger

Margret is a resident of Star Valley, Wyoming. She has been working in frontline people-to-people war relief in Ukraine since the full scale invasion began in February 2022. She is a personal witness to the power of prayer in this war.

Natalie Grishin

Natalie grew up in Mariupol, Ukraine, and attended university in Donetsk (Eastern Ukraine). She moved to the United States 15 years ago. Her parents and relatives, who once lived in territories now occupied by Russia, have become refugees in different countries. Since February 24, 2022, Natalie’s prayer group has gathered every night to pray for Ukraine. As the famous Ukrainian greeting goes, “Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!”

Catherine Pedersen

Based out of Silver Spring, Maryland, Catherine works as a teaching assistant in the Hebrew day school of a local synagogue.

Kristina Shreve

Kristina was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Her Christian faith has provided many opportunities to care for and serve others. Praying for people who trust her with their prayer needs is where she feels led to best serve the Lord.

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭1‬
